About this session
Roll up your sleeves and pick up your pick axe, it’s time to find out what makes a town hall and what’s significant about our Victorian Rochdale Town Hall.
During your visit, pupils will explore the beautiful building, and find out about people’s jobs and roles in the past. Your class will get their hands grubby as they make their own air-drying clay replica of an object they’ve explored.
Please note half the class will take part in a facilitator lead session, and half will use our mini explorer backpacks with their teacher. After an hour groups will swap activities.
Each mini explorer bag is crammed with hands-on resources and a beautifully illustrated simple set of instructions to help little eyes take in the big ideas behind the building of Rochdale Town Hall.
Our mini explorer bags are developed to meet curricular targets. Let us know which curricular target you're interested in when you book, there are 4 to choose from:
- Colours and patterns
- Materials and textures
- Shapes
- Counting
